ViaMari FAQ's
- Q : What is ViaMari?
- A : ViaMari is a private yacht club, which maintains a fleet of high-end luxury yachts for the exclusive use of its Members. The yachts are suited to the waters and boating experiences associated with the Cabo San Lucas region. The fleet will contain a combination of luxury sportfishers, cruising yachts and sailing catamarans ranging between 45’ and 70’.
- Q : Why was ViaMari created?
- A : ViaMari explored the advantages of the destination club and private residence club models, believing that logic could be applied to the enjoyment of private yachts. ViaMari’s model combines experience, flexibility, global reach and value that no other yachting concept can deliver.
- Q : Who owns ViaMari’s yachts?
- A : ViaMari owns the yachts free and clear of liens or encumbrances. The Members are assigned exclusive usage rights to the yachts via their membership.
- Q : How often can I use the yachts?
- A : A Member may reserve a yacht for as little as a 1/2 day or for multiple days. Your Olamar Sales Executive has further details on usage programs.
- Q : Who handles my reservations?
- A : ViaMari has designed a proprietary reservation system, which assigns a value to each experience depending on the yacht type and time of year. ResortCom Elite and the LaTour Signature Group manage reservations and Member services. The same high level of service and attention to detail experienced while in residence at Olamar is what you can expect while on the yachts.
- Q : Do I have to be concerned with the maintenance of the yachts?
- A : Not at all. The yachts and crews are managed by Fraser Yachts Worldwide. The firm has been managing yachts for 65 years and it assures the yachts are maintained at the highest standards.
- Q : How is my membership deposit protected?
- A : In addition to the exclusive usage rights, the value of the yachts combined with the PEF and yacht operations reserves are assigned to the Members of the club. In the event of divestiture or dissolution of the Club, Members’ deposits are secured by the combined value of the fleet and cash assets.
- Q : How will I be apprised of the financial “health” of ViaMari?
- A : Members are provided an annually audited “Club Report”, which will demonstrate the financial stability of the club. This report uses an industry standard method called the “net asset test”. Your Sales Executive can further explain how this works.
